The current structure of the UNR includes 12 faculties, 6 secondary schools, 1 interdisciplinary studies center and 13 research institutes with dual dependence on Conicet. It also has 5 sports facilities, 6 university cafeterias, 3 health centers to assist students without medical coverage and 4 university residences. In addition, there are laboratories, hospitals-schools of Dentistry and Veterinary Sciences, assistance tasks in the Eva Perón and Centenario Hospitals and 716 research teams.
The University has 90.056 undergraduate students, according to data from 2023. There are 3.780 graduate students attending the 7 UNR secondary schools –Politécnico, Superior de Comercio, Escuela Agrotécnica, Ciencias Sociales, Polo Puerto General San Martín, Polo General Lagos and El Trébol-. In addition, there are 6.835 graduate students pursuing doctorates, master's degrees and specializations. Another 11 thousand are active students in the School of Trades and 4300 in Senior Citizens, while more than 500 are students in virtual secondary school.
There are 7.000 teachers at the UNR – including university professors and secondary school teachers – of which 3.430 are researchers. There are also 2000 non-teaching staff, who make up the administrative, support and maintenance staff of the 40 buildings distributed in 6 cities. The UNR has a covered area of 220.682 m², while another 807 hectares are rural experimental fields.
The academic offer is wide with 114 undergraduate courses, 124 specialized courses, 71 master's degrees, 40 doctorates, 17 bachelor's and technical courses at the secondary level, 37 undergraduate degrees, 34 curricular complementation cycles and bachelor's cycles, 20 technical courses, 29 postgraduate courses, 42 undergraduate diplomas, 64 advanced studies diplomas and a postdoctoral course. The proposal also includes vocational courses for young people and courses for older adults. The undergraduate courses are free and it is a condition to have completed the previous cycle of the educational system.
The possibility of distance learning was added to the face-to-face modality in the Virtual Campus where courses and postgraduate courses are available. Due to the pandemic, during 2020 and 2021 the teaching of all the curricular spaces of the careers was centralized in this web support that was strengthened in its technical dimension to contain the great demand and facilitate access for students and teachers.
With virtual or face-to-face dictation, the search for excellence, innovation, academic and scientific quality is the constant purpose of the UNR, which is oriented towards the training of professionals with social responsibility and a sense of republican ethics, guarantees freedom of expression and the plurality of thought in its classrooms within the framework of democracy, and assumes the commitment to link knowledge with the needs of society.
