Briefing organized by the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO).

The Montevideo Group Association of Universities invites you to an informational meeting organized by the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO), which aims to offer opportunities for collaboration with universities in the region. The meeting will take place on April 30th at 11:XNUMX a.m. (Argentina time) virtually, via the Zoom platform (please complete the form at the bottom of this note to access the login information).

La FAO offers various free training resources that can be very useful to university networks and institutions in the region. The session will feature welcoming remarks from Maya Takagi, FAO Regional Technical Program Leader for Latin America and the Caribbean.

During the meeting, Cristina Petracchi, Coordinator of the FAO e-learning Academy (FAO e-Learning Academy), will present the Director-General's initiative entitled “FAO 4 Better Courses”, as well as the main features, opportunities, and resources offered by the Academy: free, certified, and multilingual courses.

Likewise, Karina Crespo, Coordinator of FAO Campus for Latin America and the Caribbean (FAO Campus) will present the resources available at the regional level and the potential of partnerships with academic institutions. Rocío Cóndor, FAO Forestry Officer, will also share specific examples of successful courses implemented in the region (National Forest Inventory).

This is an excellent opportunity to learn more about FAO's initiatives, which have already benefited more than a million professionals worldwide with its courses and training, and to explore synergies between our institutions.

This initiative arises from the Intention letter signed within the framework of the World Food Forum 2024, between the FAO Regional Office for Latin America and the Caribbean and the Association of Montevideo Group Universities (AUGM)
