The Superior Council of the Universidad Nacional de Rosario (UNR) approved the incorporation of the mainstreaming of the Human Rights perspective in undergraduate programs.
The initiative, developed by the Human Rights Area together with the Academic and Learning Area, seeks to ensure that all students can access human rights content and approaches in their training, regardless of their academic unit of origin.
The program enables in-person, open, and elective coursework in specific curricular areas related to Human Rights, currently offered in the faculties of Political Science and International Relations, Law, Humanities and Arts, and Psychology. These courses will be available to students from across the UNR community and will be directly accredited by the respective academic units as a "Degree Supplement."
The program includes the following sections: “Memory, Identity, and Politics,” “Human Rights Today,” “Seminar on Human Rights and Memory,” “Human Rights,” “Avatars of Identity,” and “The Subject and Human Rights.” These courses address topics such as memory and dictatorship, the philosophical and legal foundations of human rights, identity, justice, and public policy from interdisciplinary perspectives.

These subjects will be available from the 2026 academic year and registration can be accessed in a self-managed way through the "courses" category of the University Information System (SIU GUARANÍ).
It is worth noting that this is the beginning of a progressive curriculum integration process that leaves open the possibility of incorporating new curricular spaces from other faculties, in order to broaden and enrich the range of academic offerings on the subject.
The official presentation will be next Wednesday, December 10th at 10 am in the "Ricardo Suárez" North Hall of the UNR Government Headquarters. in the framework of International Human Rights Day.
On the road to the fiftieth anniversary of the Civic-Military Coup, which will be commemorated in March 2026, the UNR is advancing in the mainstreaming of Human Rights, ratifying the institutional commitment to a critical, inclusive public university committed to its time.
