It was carried out in hybrid mode, on February 20 and 21 at the Universidad Nacional del Litoral

The Academic Committee on Gender of the Association of Montevideo Group Universities held its first meeting of the year on February 20 and 21, taking place at the Faculty of Humanities and Sciences of the Universidad Nacional del Litoral.

On the part of the Universidad Nacional de Rosario One of its representatives, Ms. Natalia Cocciarini, participated and praised the excellent organization and support provided by the host institution.

The work, in summary, consisted of a diagnosis of the member universities of the Committee in relation to gender policies in the context of the region; an evaluation of the activities carried out during 2024 and the challenges ahead, as well as the status of the group and the degree of participation of the universities, as well as the relationship with other CA and the AUGM agenda.

Secondly, work was done on this diagnosis and on the formulation of 2025 and three-year plans. Short-term activities have been defined and tasks have been divided into subcommittees to advance the proposed agenda, as well as a schedule of monthly meetings in which each commission will report on progress and decisions that must be made by the entire Committee.

The aforementioned commissions were formed in the following topics: 1. Repository; 2. Summer-Winter School (EVI) and exchange of good practices with young people; 3. Map of research and extension teams for academic linkage; 4. Publication; 5. Induction of new members.

Specifically, and based on the concerns of our colleagues about the state of our Argentine universities, given that in terms of gender they represent a spearhead, a brief declaration was prepared which was submitted to the Executive Secretariat of AUGM and published on February 25.
