On April 4 and 5, 2023, the Annual Meeting of Heads of Araucano of state-managed educational institutions was held, organized by the Department of University Information (DIU) of the National Directorate of Budget and University Information, dependent on the Secretariat of Policies University (SPU) of the Ministry of Education of the Nation.

The members of the General Directorate of University Statistics of the UNR participated in it. Throughout both days, experiences were exchanged regarding the use of statistical information at the university level, and various lines of work were discussed:

– Incorporation of variables that allow expanding the socio-demographic characterization of university students: disability status and belonging to indigenous peoples, with the aim of developing public policies to support or strengthen these sectors.

– Survey of the current situation of recently incorporated variables: mobility students, gender identity and diversity, among others.

– Launch of the “Historical Series – Graciela Molino” project, whose objective is to extend the historical series of students, entrants, and graduates of undergraduate and graduate level reported in the SIU Araucano system, covering data from 1980 backwards. This survey seeks to honor one of the founders of the Department of University Information of the SPU, Lic. Graciela Molino, Statistician graduated from UNR in 1968, who died in 2022.

– Presentation of results corresponding to the 2021 academic year and work plan for the current year.

The event was attended by the Secretary of University Policies, Esp. Oscar Alpa; representatives of the University Information System (SIU); and workers from various public universities in the country.
