Results and projections were shared regarding the recent international accreditation obtained by the University Diploma of Competence in Spanish as a Foreign Language. This recognition positions UNR among the leading institutions in Spanish certification worldwide.

Authorities of the Universidad Nacional de Rosario They led the institutional presentation this Monday. “Present and prospects of DUCLE certification”, an activity in which the scope of the recent acquisition of the SICELE Quality Seal by the University Diploma of Competence in Spanish as a Foreign Language (DUCLE) was made known.

The meeting took place in the North Hall of the UNR Government Headquarters and brought together university authorities, representatives of public bodies and members of the diplomatic corps, who joined in the celebration of an achievement that strengthens the international projection of the institution.

“It is a source of pride that the University can continue to excel institutionally. Many years of hard work have gone into making things happen, and this achievement is a recognition of that effort. I have no doubt that this is an important milestone in the history of the UNR, demonstrating that, even with everything, it has the will and desire to continue growing,” affirmed Rector Franco Bartolacci, adding: “Obtaining the SICELE Quality Seal represents an opportunity to continue building international academic ties and to strengthen Rosario as a university and cultural city.”

The Dean of the Faculty of Humanities and Arts, Alejandro Vila, emphasized that this international accreditation “is a highly commendable achievement that involved a great deal of collective work.” He also highlighted the work of the team from the Academic Program in Spanish as a Foreign Language and for Spanish Speakers. “They do a tremendous amount of professional work; countless hours of training go into this project, which positions the faculty and the university at an institutional level. It also elevates the city, placing it in a leading position within the Spanish-speaking world.”

It is worth highlighting that this achievement is the result of a hard work of adapting the certificate to international standards carried out over four years by a team of seven people, led by Prof. Carlos Valentini and the Academic Secretary of the Academic Program of Spanish as a Foreign Language and for Spanish Speakers, Prof. Adriana de Vooght. 

During the activity, members of the Academic Program of Spanish as a Foreign Language and for Spanish Speakers (PRAELEH), responsible for the administration of DUCLE, reviewed the certification process and explained the evaluation process that culminated in obtaining the recognition granted by the International Certification System of Spanish as a Foreign Language (SICELE).

The SICELE Quality Seal certifies that assessment systems meet international standards of quality, transparency, and academic rigor. With this accreditation, DUCLE became the third Spanish language certification in the world to receive this recognition, and UNR became the first university to achieve it individually.

“This achievement is the result of years of sustained work and reflects the University’s commitment to academic excellence and internationalization,” Carlos Valentini emphasized.

In addition to analyzing the impact of accreditation, the day addressed the opportunities that arise to strengthen the international presence of the UNR, expand the arrival of foreign students and consolidate the development of language tourism in Rosario and the region.

The exhibitors pointed out that the recognition not only validates the quality of the certification, but also positions Rosario as an increasingly attractive destination for those seeking to train and certify their Spanish language skills.

At the close of the meeting, the authorities emphasized that the accreditation constitutes a strategic step for the growth of DUCLE and for strengthening the internationalization policies promoted by the Universidad Nacional de Rosario.
