Every April 26, Intellectual Property Day is celebrated, following the entry into force of the international agreement that created the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO), signed by all the countries that comprise it.
Intellectual property is a legal system composed of a set of national and international standards that allow protection of intellectual creations, understood in a broad sense to include scientific and technical research, plant varieties, literary, artistic, musical, educational works, sculptures. , plans, but also marks and symbols, names and images, that is, it encompasses the creation of the human intellect.
In this sense, the main capital that our University has is the creative potential of its teachers, researchers, in whom it invests most of its assets for training, development of its main activities and the environment in which to deploy its research and teaching. . It is from the fruit of their scientific work that new knowledge, innovative technological developments and inventions are obtained. To guarantee the use of the intellectual creations of those who make up our scientific and academic community, it is necessary to protect the results of their research.

The protection of intellectual creations is carried out through different registries and tools provided by current legislation, such as patents for inventions, utility models, industrial models and designs, brands and symbols, plant varieties, rights. of authorship such as software, musical and non-musical works. The UNR has records that can be used socially in a wide variety of topics, ranging from animal production, human health, water treatment, and the chemical, food and pharmaceutical industries, among others.
From the Technological Linkage Directorate of the Area of Science, Technology and Innovation for Development, we accompany and advise the entire university community in the evaluation of developments and research for the processing of the different intellectual and industrial property registrations, we promote the transfer of these results to the socio-productive sector through different legal instruments and agreements and we carry out training and other activities to promote intellectual property.
