UNR launched a program aimed at graduates and companies that can make voluntary contributions for academic development and scientific production.
La Universidad Nacional de Rosario The University Solidarity Program has launched a program that will allow for voluntary contributions, donations of personal property, and cooperation with services. The call is open to graduates and companies whose contributions will be used to purchase equipment, promote student participation in international academic events and competitions, and improve the building's infrastructure. The contribution will be institutionalized through the website. https://solidaridad.unr.edu.ar/ and donations may be single, periodic or monthly.
“We are going through a difficult situation, as everyone knows, that affects our activities in general and, in particular, our ability to properly maintain our buildings or design infrastructure to keep up with our enrollment growth and acquire or replace expensive technological equipment that is essential for a good teaching process or for research. We appeal to the solidarity of those who have had the opportunity to train at our University, so that they can make a voluntary contribution that will help us in these aspects,” said Rector Franco Bartolacci.
"We're not going to wait for what's right while what we do deteriorates. In our case, while we demand what's right, we're going to seek all the alternatives that allow us to sustain the important things happening at our University and project the things UNR needs to continue growing," Bartolacci stated.
how it will work
Donations are voluntary and can be made through the website https://solidaridad.unr.edu.ar/ by simply clicking the "Donate" button. The link will then prompt you to complete a form where you will need to enter your credit card, debit card, or bank transfer information, and then choose one of the support areas: Infrastructure and Building Renovation, Equipment, and International Student Mobility.
The financial contribution to establish a solidarity fund can be made on a one-time basis, on specific occasions, or on a monthly basis. Contributors will have access to all the information regarding the programs and projects to be implemented in each area, as well as constant updates on project progress, program impact, and the number of beneficiaries, through data visualization (tables, graphs, and maps).
Furthermore, companies will be able to access tax benefits. They will also strengthen ties with the UNR, which could lead to the growth of their contact networks, participation in various types of events, and the strengthening of their brand and institutional image.
In Infrastructure and Building Renovation, it will serve to support UNR enrollment and ensure the proper maintenance of buildings, many of which are of significant heritage value. UNR's academic expansion grew by 50 percent, with the launch of new programs, including Tourism, Industrial Design, Graphic and Apparel Design, Public Safety, Data Science, and the Artificial Intelligence Technician's Degree.
In terms of equipment, this will allow for continued transformation of classrooms and laboratories, reinforcing innovation and cutting-edge tools, transforming them into interactive and dynamic learning environments. This will also contribute to consolidating the scientific work of research teams.
And thirdly, contributions for international student mobility will allow students to continue improving their skills abroad and participate in international academic competitions or contests that enrich their experience and strengthen the UNR, as frequently happens with students from pre-university schools (Polytechnic, Superior de Comercio) who participate in national and international competitions in physics, chemistry, computer science, or mathematics, among others, for which until a few years ago there was specific funding that no longer exists.
Call for graduates
"Sometimes, to make things happen, you have to work to connect the dots. There are graduates in different fields and parts of the world pursuing their professional development who constantly ask us how they can help. So we created a solidarity tool that allows those who want to contribute to do so and the University to move forward," said the Rector.
In most cases over the past two years, the funding provided by the nation for students from the country to participate in international competitions was cut. In 2025, the UNR sharpened its focus to assist those who travel to international competitions that are crucial to the development of students and to the University's national and global projection and recognition. "We thought it appropriate to include a specific line to support these cases, so that those who have passed through our classrooms can help today's students continue to grow and follow the same path," said Bartolacci.
The rector noted that many graduates and companies are already collaborating in various ways. "There is a strong sense of belonging among those who have passed through our institution and a strong awareness that they were able to gain their education thanks to the efforts that a country like ours makes to sustain the university system. What we are doing with this program is institutionalizing that collaboration, expanding it, and prioritizing it as a program for the entire UNR," he emphasized.
