:: GOALS:
General
- Have a university program to research, develop strategic technology, provide technical assistance and provide specialized services, in the disciplinary area of remote sensing using unmanned aerial vehicles.
Specifics
- Develop experimental Unmanned Aerial Vehicles, and research manufacturing techniques, materials and associated tooling, adapted to various uses and applications.
- Promote and execute remote aerial survey and/or remote sensing activities, interpretation, analysis and evaluation of images associated with different environmental problems, in accordance with current guidelines on territorial management; and promote research and development tasks, scientific-technical dissemination, education and technology transfer in the areas of its competence.
- Advise public and private administrations and institutions of the region and the country in the development of master plans and programs that relate the different uses of the territory with the general and specific needs of the communities and provide advisory and training services in the areas of your competition.
- Contribute to the design of specific regulations linked to the use and management of VANts technology.
:: MAIN LINES OF WORK:
- Development of fixed wing and rotary wing aircraft, design and construction of parts, repair, test bench with 'hardware in the loop' simulation.
- Modeling of tools and fixtures for the manufacture of parts and components of UAVs.
- Digitization of available UAV models and modification of parts or parts thereof,
- Development of propulsion and control systems, autopilot, telemetry, instrumentation, ground stations.
- Design and planning of automatic flight missions, training of operational personnel, fleet sizing, onboard and ground equipment.
- Preparation and analysis of regulatory aspects of the activity. Preparation of protocols and procedure manuals.
- Photogrammetric applications linked to two-dimensional multispectral and thermal tele-surveying, intended for monitoring vegetation (natural and crops), courses and bodies of water, environmental impact situations, monitoring and/or determining the maintenance conditions of structures that They emit heat, etc.
- Photogrammetric applications arising from three-dimensional (3D) RGB remote surveying, intended for the development of numerical models of shapes and sizes of objects, as support for infrastructure works, engineering, topography, agricultural, livestock, forestry, etc.
- Advice to state, social and private institutions on the matter;
- Training of human resources to care for the disciplines, subject or specialty;
- Formulation and execution of undergraduate and graduate training, teaching and specialization programs and courses in the field of their specialty;
- Design and execution of environmental transfer programs.
- Provision of services to state or private companies and organizations.
::DEVELOPED ACTIVITIES:
- Development of a fixed-wing drone prototype: the URUTAÚ.
- The program has a category D fixed-wing UAV prototype suitable for projects that need long-range coverage.
- The URUTAÚ model is capable of carrying out missions of up to 300 km of autonomy, with a ceiling of 3000 meters high at a speed of 130 km/h.
- This equipment adapts to applications for large areas and distances, very common in Argentina.
Dictated courses
Drone operator courses have been given in agreement with the company DOS.
- Drone Operator Course
- UNR launches a Drone Operator Course
- The UNR will teach a Drone Management Course
Company Services
One application of the use of drones is the surveillance and control of electrical distribution lines and gas, oil or mineral transportation pipeline routes. All of these applications have in common the routine travel of long distances in isolated or difficult-to-access places. In this sense, the Program together with the company Transener have an agreement in force to study the use of drones in the control of electric energy transportation lines.
Studies of land use and water erosion
Developments
A Tesla valve was developed: design, CFD flow simulation and 3D printing to be used in the seeding drone project, carried out in agreement with the Research, Development and Training Program in Digital Manufacturing – Industrial Technology 4.0 (PIDCFD – TI4.0 )
Competitions won
A team from the Program was selected in the Mate Contest, 2022 edition, with an innovative project to develop seeding drones.
Agreements
The program has collaboration agreements with ANAC and service agreements with Transener. In addition, it is associated with companies DOS y VANTAC Argentina for the development of Training and Consulting.
There is also an agreement with the Research, Development and Training Program in Digital Manufacturing – Industrial Technology 4.0 (PIDCFD – TI4.0) of the Universidad Nacional de Rosario, for 3D developments and drone scanning.
