The UNR held the closing ceremony and delivery of certificates to the participants of the undergraduate Diploma "Literacy practices in non-formal literacy programs."

The undergraduate diploma program "Literacy Practices in Non-Formal Literacy Programs" was offered by the Center for Interdisciplinary Studies with strong collaboration from the Outreach and Community Engagement Area. It aims to develop literacy practices based on the value of cultural spaces and knowledge.

Academic coordination was led by Mónica Báez and involved an interdisciplinary team of instructors. The practical component, essential to this training program, took place at the Madre Teresa Lourdes Group, where people experiencing homelessness regularly participate in training and support activities. More than 20 adults attended the program each week. Additionally, a literacy program was launched at the Casa de Todos association in the San Francisquito neighborhood.

"Both experiences are highly significant, both in the socio-educational inclusion of adults and adults from popular sectors, as well as in the expansion of the training horizons of those who are studying for the diploma", they expressed from the Extension area.

“We thought about how we could make a contribution to dignify the lives of all those who did not have the possibility of reaching the University,” said Extension Secretary Santiago Dearma and added: “We hope it has served to transform each person a little. It is a commitment of our University to collaborate so that it is a multiplier proposal.”

A gift for UNR

“On the 54th anniversary of the UNR, we can proudly point out that one of the most significant expansion processes in the history of this University has taken place ,” said Rector Franco Bartolacci, adding: “There is one in particular that I find most satisfying because it fulfills the University's mission: to move beyond being a closed palace of knowledge, to transform the public university and place it at the forefront of the problems facing the city of Rosario and the region. That the University can contribute to all the issues that are of genuine concern to society.”
