The Faculty of Biochemical and Pharmaceutical Sciences at UNR aims to train specialists with an interdisciplinary and ethical approach.
Sustainable development has become a central issue on the global agenda, posing the challenge of reconciling economic growth with environmental preservation. In a context marked by climate change, biodiversity loss, and pollution, more and more governments, businesses, and organizations are adopting policies and strategies to minimize their ecological impact. However, achieving a true balance between production, consumption, and sustainability remains a complex goal that requires profound changes in development models and in the way we understand our relationship with the environment.
Understanding the complexity and urgency, the Faculty of Biochemical and Pharmaceutical Sciences of the Universidad Nacional de Rosario launched a specialization in Environmental Sciences and Sustainable Development, aiming to train specialists with an interdisciplinary and ethical vision, capable of analyzing and addressing complex environmental problems.
“Today, environmental issues have many axes of action, and each has approaches that can be taken interdisciplinarily. No action that can be effective for the environment and the recovery of biodiversity can be addressed from a single field of knowledge,” explained Dean Andrés Sciara, who is also the director of this new training program.
In line with this, he explained that it was decided to offer this specialization in a 100% virtual format so that more people could access it. "We are recruiting prestigious professors with backgrounds in environmental issues from different academic units, always keeping in mind that any professional from any university program can take this specialization and apply the environmental perspective in their professional work."
