The UNR regrets the departure of the co-founder of the Mothers of Plaza de Mayo Association.

La Universidad Nacional de Rosario expresses regret for the death of Hebe de Bonafini, president of the Mothers of Plaza de Mayo Association, who died on November 20 at the age of 93.

After the disappearance of two of her two children during the last military dictatorship, Bonafini became a tireless fighter for human rights, a brave woman who faced state terrorism together with other Mothers and Grandmothers.

The UNR authorities remember Bonafini as an unavoidable reference in their relentless fight for human rights in Argentina during the darkest years of the civic-military dictatorship. At the same time, it is considered that the country's democracy owes him a lot in those early years of youth, since together with mothers and grandmothers they led the way and turned white handkerchiefs into a symbol of life, a unique struggle in the world.
