International Opportunities

PILA is a joint initiative of the Colombian Association of Universities (ASCUN), the National Association of Universities and Higher Education Institutions (ANUIES) and the National Interuniversity Council (CIN).

Promotes the exchange of students, teachers and managers (in person and online) in order to enrich their academic, professional and comprehensive training, and allow the achievement of an international vision in their university education. In addition, it seeks to strengthen the internationalization of Higher Education and strengthen academic cooperation ties between Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Cuba, Mexico, Nicaragua and Uruguay.

PILA TECENTES

The Latin American Academic Exchange Program (PILA) offers mobility opportunities for teachers from higher education institutions in Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Cuba, Mexico, Nicaragua, and Uruguay.

Faculty mobility allows for teaching, research, outreach, training or academic cooperation activities at participating universities, promoting the exchange of knowledge, experiences and best practices.

Its objectives include:

  • Strengthening academic cooperation among higher education institutions in Latin America.
  • Promote the internationalization of teaching and research.
  • Promote the professional and academic development of teachers.
  • Promote the generation of regional collaboration networks.

STUDENT PILE

The Latin American Academic Exchange Program (PILA) provides undergraduate students with the opportunity to study for an academic period at a participating foreign university, with recognition of studies at their home institution.

The experience allows for the development of academic and intercultural skills, broadens professional perspectives, and strengthens Latin American regional integration.

Among its main benefits are:

  • Undertake an international academic experience at universities in Latin America.
  • Learn about new teaching and learning methodologies.
  • Develop intercultural and adaptation skills.
  • Expand academic and professional networks.

Mobility programs can be carried out in person or virtually, depending on the current calls for applications.

The UNR UNIGLOBAL Mobility Program was designed by the Internationalization Area as a tool to support the international projection of the UNR academic community, functioning simultaneously as a mechanism for inclusion and a platform for integration into global knowledge networks. Understanding that international mobility represents much more than a simple geographical relocation, UNIGLOBAL is aimed at faculty, undergraduate students, and non-teaching staff.

The Program represents an essential component of UNR's internationalization strategy; it serves as a strategic mechanism that strengthens academic and institutional ties globally, facilitating international training experiences that enrich the professional profile of its participants.

UNIGLOBAL STUDENT

UNIGLOBAL Student provides UNR undergraduate students with the opportunity to undertake international academic experiences at universities in different countries.

Through these mobility programs, students can take courses, participate in academic and research activities, pre-professional internships, and develop intercultural skills that strengthen their comprehensive education and broaden their academic and professional perspectives.

Its objectives include:

  • Promote the international education of students.
  • Strengthening intercultural and linguistic skills.
  • Promote integration into international academic networks.

UNIGLOBAL TEACHERS

UNIGLOBAL Teachers promotes the participation of UNR teachers in international academic activities, fostering cooperation with higher education institutions from different regions of the world.

Mobilities can include teaching, research, training, outreach and academic cooperation activities, contributing to the strengthening of the university's internationalization processes.

Its objectives include:

  • Promote international academic cooperation.
  • Strengthen the quality of teaching and research.
  • Generate collaborative networks with foreign institutions.
  • Promote the exchange of knowledge and best practices.

UNIGLOBAL NON-TEACHING STAFF

UNIGLOBAL Nondocentes is intended for the non-teaching staff of the UNR, recognizing their fundamental role in university management processes and institutional internationalization.

Through international mobility experiences, participants can learn about management models, exchange experiences with peers from other institutions, and acquire tools that contribute to the continuous improvement of university services.

Its main objectives are:

  • Strengthening the professionalization of university management.
  • Promote the exchange of experiences and good administrative practices.
  • Promote cooperation between management areas of different universities.
  • To contribute to the internationalization of the university community.
