La Universidad Nacional de Rosario together with the Municipality of Rosario, he presented the agenda ¡Que Grande Octubre!

Within the framework of the 3rd Newcom meeting in Rosario, the Directorate of Older Adults, dependent on the Secretariat of Human Development and Habitat of the Municipality of Rosario and the Open University Program for Older Adults, dependent on the Extension and Territory Area of ​​the Universidad Nacional de Rosario presented the agenda What a great October!, a series of activities that aim to transmit and promote the rights of older people.

On Friday the 29th in the morning, teams from Newcom, a discipline designed for older people, met on the Paseo de la Ciencia to celebrate the “Greats of Sport” day. This sport consists of an adaptation of volleyball where the ball, instead of being hit, is caught and thrown again. In this context, authorities from the Municipality and the University presented the ¡Que Grande Octubre!

On October 1, Older Persons' Day is commemorated around the world, highlighting the importance of recognizing, promoting and guaranteeing the human rights and fundamental freedoms of older persons. For this reason, the two spaces planned October to co-organize meetings, talks and exhibitions in various spaces in the city. From the Older Adults Program, the activities are varied and teachers and students of the courses participate, as well as the Health Area of ​​the UNR, the Gender and Sexualities Area of ​​the UNR and the Human Rights area of ​​the Faculty of Psychology, among other spaces of the University.

During the day, Sonia Mansilla highlighted the work that the University and the Municipality have been carrying out together and stressed the importance of this type of activities to promote the full exercise of rights at all ages. On the other hand, Santiago Vieytes pointed out that "it is important that Programs like the University can go out into the streets to look for inclusive spaces for participation, listening to the interests and demands of the people of the city." Therefore, the agenda includes activities in various spaces such as the Wladimir Mikielievich City Museum, the Estrada Library, the House of the Cossettini Sisters, the Western District and more.
