The Mental Health and Addictions Observatory, dependent on the Center for Interdisciplinary Studies of the Universidad Nacional de Rosario It is made up of professionals, teachers and researchers from various areas of knowledge: Medicine, Psychology, Law, Nursing, Music Therapy and other related disciplines. Among its main objectives it is possible to list contributing from research related to the problems of mental health and addictions, in the light of human rights, with basic and applied, disciplinary and interdisciplinary projections, to the fulfillment of the purposes of the University of teaching, research, training, extension and social promotion. This contains undergraduate and postgraduate teaching aimed at continuing training, including that of new researchers.
Likewise, the Observatory carries out an important task of scientific and applied research in the field of mental health and addictions and related areas, promoting dialogue between branches and science, privileging interdisciplinarity. This is why it supports actions related to the generation, dissemination and application of scientific knowledge in its area, both at the level of the organization of academic activities, the exchange with academic institutions with similar characteristics and non-academic institutions dedicated to mental health and addictions, the production of publications and support tasks for the social society, the judicial, executive and legislative power at the local, provincial and national level.

  • The structure of the Observatory allows for assigned members, whose membership lasts one year and can be renewed indefinitely at the request of the director.

:: MAIN ACTIVITIES:

  • Develop and promote research in the different disciplines that are core to their specialization;
  • Develop and promote research in different disciplines that are related to their specialization;
  • Disseminate information about advances in the subject disciplines of your specialty, as well as publish the results of the research and work carried out;
  • Promote and hold national and international meetings and exchange events with related institutions;
  • Advise, render opinions and carry out studies when required
  • for this by agencies of the Local, Provincial or Federal public administration or any agency of the Universidad Nacional de Rosario;
  • Advise social and private institutions on the matter;
  • Train human resources to care for the disciplines, subject or specialty;
  • Formulate and execute undergraduate and graduate training, teaching and specialization programs and courses in the field of your specialty;
  • Establish transfer programs to the environment through the competent organizations of the Universidad Nacional de Rosario.
  • For the purposes of carrying out these activities, the Observatory has different divisions or academic areas, according to the criteria chosen by the director. Each specific area has a person in charge of promoting its favorable performance.
