Diplomas were awarded to new Port Operators of Timbúes and a UNR Point was inaugurated that will provide training from the School of Trades.
During a visit to Timbúes, UNR Rector Franco Bartolacci met with the president of this commune, Antonio Fiorenza, and discussed the urban and productive reorganization plans that are about to be implemented in that town.

They then toured the Deheza Puerto Timbúes oil mill and observed the processes carried out in the automated plant from the entry of the grain to shipment. It is a state-of-the-art plant in terms of process automation and because of this they need to have increasingly more qualified personnel.

Later, they inaugurated the UNR Point in Timbúes, where academic activities offered jointly by the University and the municipality will take place. Rector Bartolacci highlighted the importance of the University being able to expand to different towns and localities in the province. “We thank the Communal President for opening the doors to education. Education saves us, makes us truly free and gives us tools to be able to grow. We continue to promote new proposals reaching towns and cities.”

Finally, 42 new Port Operators who received training through the University's School of Trades were awarded diplomas. This course offered practical knowledge in key areas related to work in cereal plants and in the port sector. Students were also able to take other complementary training courses, such as the course on Ship and Port Facility Protection and the course on Job Interviews and Public Speaking. These additional subjects provide graduates with tools to successfully face the world of work and improve their opportunities for insertion in the productive sector.

The communal president, Antonio Fiorenza, stated that “Timbúes has 42 more qualified people, with new skills, ready to face the challenges of the agro-industrial sector and become protagonists of the future of our community and contribute to growth. I want to thank the UNR School of Trades, the Rector, teachers and students for joining such an important project. Education is the way, let us continue forward with the hard-working and energetic spirit that characterizes us so much.”
