La Universidad Nacional de Rosario and the Municipality of Cañada de Gomez open a new residence for university students, an unprecedented experience that unites for the first time the efforts of a municipality with the Public University to guarantee a place to live in Rosario for those who come to study.

Today, the Rector of the UNR Franco Bartolacci, and the Mayor of Cañada de Gomez, Matias Chale, signed the agreement that enables the operation of the new student residence located at 2257 Tucumán Street, which has 30 places available and will be managed jointly by the university and the municipality.
“We thank the mayor of Cañada de Gomez for the initiative, we know that the possibility of having a place to live in the city is sometimes decisive for the continuity of the studies of those who study at our University and are from the interior,” stated the rector. Franco Bartolacci, and added, “We try to multiply the initiatives that can accompany our students, especially those who have greater difficulties in continuing with their university studies, this is the first experience we have had in conjunction with a local government in the region, and we are convinced that it will be a successful experience and we hope it will multiply. I especially thank the Mayor of Cañada de Gómez, without his determined commitment this would not have been possible.”

"Our young people choose the Public University of Rosario to study year after year, this is why this joint initiative aims to accompany them in accessing quality training, it is a first step in this task, we are very happy and excited," he said. For his part, Matias Chale, Mayor of Cañada de Gómez.
The second residence of the UNR has 12 rooms each with its private bathroom on two floors, it has a kitchen and dining room for shared use plus a service bathroom, living/study room, laundry area, and on the upper floor two exclusive terraces . The selection for student admission will be made jointly between the Municipality of Cañada de Gomez and the UNR student residence program.
This second property joins the University Residences program, which began the experience in 2022 with the residence located at Santa Fe 1470, which has a common study space on the ground floor and another common study space on the mezzanine for residents, with 36 rooms for shared use.

La Universidad Nacional de Rosario continues working to be able to add new spaces by 2024, with the aim of being able to promote access and permanence for those who carry out their studies at the institution, and continue working on expanding rights for students.
