New Day Making Feminist Universities

On May 26 and 27 it will take place at the Universidad Nacional de Rosario. Aimed at the socialization and balance of experiences of institutionalization of feminist policies in universities.

This year the Conference Making Feminist Universities will be held co-organized by the University Gender Network (RUGE), the UNR Gender and Sexualities Area and the Ministry of Equality, Gender and Diversity of the province of Santa Fe. Through of this initiative, it seeks to bring together university feminisms in a meeting for the socialization and balance of experiences, based on the emergence, growth and institutionalization of feminist policies in universities.

The proposal of the Conference Making Feminist Universities 2022 focuses on the socialization of experiences related to the feminist agenda in connection with the UUNN, for the identification of obstacles and challenges in the development of university policies.

The work dynamics will focus on the exchange based on four axes:

  • Approach to sexist violence
  • Gender mainstreaming policies
  • Stewardship and care
  • Gender-generic diversity policies

These axes are identified as central in the course of university feminisms and on which we will seek to outline strategies to advance articulately. The objective of these "provocations" is to generate a dialogue where the experiences are put into tension, beyond their intrinsic value, within the map of university policies and in articulation with the different state levels.

As a result of this work proposal, a document will be developed that will seek to capture collective projections to consolidate the Feminist Universities that we need, as a contribution to the common political agenda of University Feminisms.

A form must be completed for each proposal submitted, in this way the same person can participate in more than one presentation as responsible or as part of the team.

Previous editions

The proposal of the previous year was the Panel Making Feminist Universities, in the IV Feminist Forum and Feminist Policies and affective repertoires: keys and current challenges, organized by the CIFEG and the Secretariat of Gender and Sexualities of the University within the framework of the XIV edition of the National Congress and VII International on Democracy. And in 2020, the Pre-Conferences "Making Feminist Universities" were held with an international panel "Equality Plans in Higher Education: Institutionalization Experiences", presented by Ana Buquet and María Jesús Izquierdo, consisting of an enriching exchange of experiences from the universities of Mexico and Barcelona on university gender policies.
