News in the categorization of research teachers

The Secretariat of University Policies of the Ministry of Education of the Nation, extended the registration until June 25 to the Program for University Research in Argentina (Prinuar), a new structure for the categorization of research teachers. 

The Secretariat of University Policies (SPU), of the Ministry of Education of the Nation, opens the registration to the Program for University Research in Argentina (Prinuar), a new structure for the categorization of research teachers. 

The call began on April 10 and was extended until June 25 and is done through an application of the University Information System (SIU) (link: https://prinuar.siu.edu.ar/).

Said system will take the data from the CVar (http://cvar.sicytar.mincyt.gob.ar/auth/indexPro.jsp?99)

It is recommended that the teacher-researchers who are interested in participating complete and update their CVar.  

About the call

  • In this call All those categorized in 2009 must be submitted.
  • All uncategorized teachers with a seniority of two years or more in the institution (teaching position with any dedication) may apply.
  • Those categorized in 2014 are not required to appear, but may do so voluntarily to aspire to a promotion.
  • Important. The system takes all the CVar data, so it must be updated.

About the new categorization  

The Prinuar has the objective of prioritizing scientific research and development (R&D) and the arts in the field of the Argentine University System. It contemplates criteria to favor gender equality, federalism and autonomy. The guidelines are in line with the lines proposed by the universities and the national policies that aim to promote the development of knowledge. 

The new program provides calls for categorization for admission and promotion every two years. The categories to which each teacher-researcher can apply will be identified as I, II, III, IV or V, with I being the highest category.

Where can I find information about Prinuar?

When does the 2023 call start? 
The 2023 call will start from April 10, 2023 until May 31, which will be reported through the website https://www.argentina.gob.ar/educacion/universidades/prinuar by publishing the corresponding resolution. 

What do I have to do to submit my categorization request? 
To submit your application, you must have your CVar updated and once the call is enabled, make the categorization request on the website https://prinuar.siu.edu.ar/ , after importing the CVAr data (link to the instructions below). It is recommended to read the Frequently Asked Questions section of the portal 

Where can I submit my categorization request? Where can I register or recover my password? 
The categorization request will be requested through the website https://prinuar.siu.edu.ar/, previous registration in the same or, in the case of teachers already categorized, using the same user that was used in previous categorizations or for requests for incentives. Those who have forgotten their access code can request it through the same portal.  
Teachers who need to update their email can consult incentives.ciencias@unr.edu.ar  , with the subject changed from mail-Prinaur.
Those who require a change of university should send an email to incentives.ciencias@unr.edu.ar  with the matter Change of University – Prinaur. 

Can teachers who already have a username and password in the incentive program use it to submit the Request for Categorizations in Prinaur? 
If they can use it, if they do not remember the password or email, they must request it through the same portal.  

If I have my information in the Sigeva Universities or Conicet systems, can I import the data to the CVar? 
 If you have information in the Sigeva Conicet or Sigeva Universities systems, you can synchronize the data to CVAr, following the instructions available at  https://www.conicet.gov.ar/wp-content/uploads/InstructivoSincronizaci%C3%B3nUniv-Sigeva-CVar.pdf  

Until when can I update the CVar? 
Once the call has been opened, as long as they do not send the categorization request, they can update the CVar, until before the call closes on May 31, 2023. 
Important: The impact of the CVar update on the request requires, yes or yes, that the data be re-imported prior to sending the categorization request. 

Who can apply for the 2023 Call? 
Those who wish to promote (upgrade) having a firm category, or enter the program, regardless of the categorization call, may do so in this Prinuar call according to the terms established in the Prinuar regulation (links above in the note). Those categorized in 2009, who wish to maintain the category, must present the categorization request in this call for Prinuar. Those categorized in 2011 and 2014, who wish to remain with the category, may not request it in this call. The terms of validity of the firm category will be established in the resolution of the call. In the same way, those categorized in 2014, with an appeal resolved by the CNC in 2022, must be submitted in this call.  

If you have obtained a category in a certain commission and currently your lines of research have been redirected to another area of ​​knowledge, in which commission should you present your current application? 
In this call, in the resolution, a correspondence of the areas and disciplines of the 2014 Categorization with the large Areas of the Prinuar will be detailed. The Knowledge Areas Committees will define the relevance of the applications as established in point 5.1 of the Annex to the resolution ME 472/2023  In the event of a change of area, the provisions of point 5.3 of the Primary Regulations detailed in the Annex to the resolution will apply. ME 472/2023. "Those research teachers who wish to change their area of ​​knowledge must appear in the calls for new admissions, making a new application of their background."  

I want to make a categorization request, but my declared charges do not appear in the system. What should I do? 
To participate in the Categorizations, you must meet the conditions established in the regulations published in https://www.argentina.gob.ar/educacion/universidades/prinuar. Those teachers who do not see their positions in the application or that they are wrong, should send an email to the Secretary of C and T of their Academic Unit with their Cuil number to report the situation.    

How will categorization requests for teachers who have been at the University for less than two years (even if they have experience at other universities) be managed? What will be the procedure? 
In this case, if the teacher is informed, they can submit the application and then the application will be verified with the University. It is recommended to contact the Secretary of Science and Technology (or similar) of your Academic Unit that wishes to submit the application.
