Organized by Mercociudades and associated with the Call for South-South Cooperation projects.

The Mercociudades Network, through its South-South Cooperation Program, invites technical and management teams from the network's local governments, as well as representatives of civil society organizations and educational institutions from partner cities, to apply for the 19th Mercociudades training program for the development of regional projects.

In this call, training for project formulation will have as its central axis "Local action and innovation for Latin American integration: for sustainable, inclusive, and democratic development" Within the thematic axes: vulnerable populations; innovation; gender equity; care and adaptation systems; and combating climate change, with a cross-cutting focus on SDGs 5, 10, 11, 16, and 17.

The selected proposals (up to 25) will participate in two sessions: an in-person session in Bogotá, Colombia, between August 11 and 15, 2025, with methodological and thematic workshops, with covered food, lodging, and domestic travel expenses (does not include international travel). The session will also take place online, lasting three months, to develop an improved version of their proposal.

Up to three projects will be selected from among the projects submitted during the training and will be fully funded (international airfare, meals, and lodging) to conduct a technical visit to a city with a similar experience to the proposed initiative or to participate in an activity organized by Mercociudades in 2026.
