A team of students from Rosario achieved 10th place and received a bronze medal, another group came in 18th place. It was in Chile and they managed to qualify for the World Championship in Dubai.
Two teams of students from the Universidad Nacional de Rosario (UNR) positioned themselves among the best in the region at the ICPC Latin America Championship, also known as "Programmers of America", achieving a bronze medal and the pass to the World Championship of this discipline that will be held in November in Dubai.
At the Championship held from March 4th to 8th in Santiago, Chile, UNR once again demonstrated its regional leadership with two teams achieving elite positions among the 44 best teams across the continent. The representatives of both teams are all students of the Bachelor of Science in Computer Science program at the Faculty of Exact Sciences, Engineering, and Surveying (FCEIA).
“Red Black Tree,” comprised of students Julián Cabrera, Francesco Mozzati, and Matías Raimundez, was one of the standout performers at the event. After intense competition, the team from Rosario secured 10th place overall. Under the tournament's award system, which grants medals to the top twelve teams, the team received the bronze medal and qualification for the ICPC World Finals, representing the National University of Rosario (UNR) at the World Championships to be held in Dubai from November 15th to 20th of this year.

The other UNR team, "for the pda we chose wf," made up of Matías Álvarez Oviedo, Gastón Martinez Castro, and Milagros Osimi, had a remarkable performance, finishing in 18th place. This team's performance was superior to that of other universities that qualified for the world stage. However, the competition rules only allow one team per university to qualify.
The teams were coached by Federico Bersano, Mariano Crosetti, Franco De Rico and Sebastián Mestre, former competitors and also members of the Bachelor of Science in Computer Science at FCEIA.
“We are very proud of our students’ performance, and also very grateful to UNR, which helped finance the travel expenses for two of the competitors to travel to Chile. This support is essential for students to be able to represent the university in competitions of this level,” said Federico Bersano, one of the coaches who accompanied the delegation.
The event's closing ceremony and awards presentation was streamed live on YouTube. Below you can see the moments when the programmers representing UNR were awarded:

At this Latin American Programming event, UNR stood out once again for its academic prestige and for guaranteeing its presence alongside other universities in the country - such as those of Córdoba, La Plata, and Buenos Aires - in the most important programming competition in the world.
