Two visually impaired students graduated as lawyers at the Universidad Nacional de Rosario.

Ezequiel Falletti and Lina Sosa Guerci completed their academic studies at the UNR Faculty of Law and graduated thanks to programs promoted by the Directorate of Inclusion and Accessibility.

“I want to thank the support of many people in the accessibility area since the beginning of the course and the importance of this not only for me but for all the students,” said Ezequiel. Meanwhile, Lina said that “it is an honor to have been able to study at a public university and to have graduated today.”

In this Faculty, as in the entire University, comprehensive and meticulous work is carried out to guarantee the inclusion of students with disabilities. This effort is articulated through various institutional spaces and actors, such as the Disability Commission, the Faculty's psychopedagogical office and the Academic Support and Accessibility programs, coordinated by the Directorate of Inclusion and Accessibility of the Human Rights area of the University.

One of the main actions developed is the production of accessible bibliography, prepared daily by a specialized team of proofreaders who adapt content to different formats. These materials, called Accessible Educational Objects, are stored in a repository within the UNR Virtual Campus, where they are available so that any student with specific needs can access, search for and download the texts they require.

This system not only facilitates learning, but also promotes the autonomy and independence of blind students, guaranteeing the democratization of knowledge. In other words, any student with a disability or who has any requirement has these institutionalized spaces.

It is worth noting that the Academic Accessibility Program has been running uninterruptedly since 2007. It began in the Faculty of Political Science and International Relations, from there it was replicated in the different academic units and today it is in the entire Universidad Nacional de Rosario.
