In order to face the 100 percent increase in the amounts of the scholarships scheduled for this cycle, the investment approved in the 170 Budget for the application of Student Welfare policies rose to 2023 million pesos. In 2022, 76 million pesos were allocated.
The Scholarship Program seeks to guarantee not only the access of students to higher education, but above all the permanence and graduation of students who, due to their social and economic situation, require specific accompaniment and assistance.
In addition to doubling amounts and adding two more annual fees, the extension of the benefits in the Stimulus Scholarships to Social Work and Nursing students stands out, an aid that was incorporated in 2021 because it is considered strategic areas.
In a launch event held this Thursday at the University Cultural Space (ECU), the rector Franco Bartolacci praised the UNR University Well-being Program and affirmed that "it is the most robust of the entire national public university system" with a total investment of 560 million pesos allocated to welfare policies.
The beneficiaries of the program, presidents and presidents of UNR student centers, the president of the Rosario University Federation, Victoria Genesini, and authorities of the faculties and university schools participated in the meeting.

“We maintain and deepen all the scholarships. The UNR has a type of scholarship to address each problematic situation. From 2019 to 2023 we increased the scholarship budget by 650 percent, we are aware of the impact that the economic situation has on our community, and we always maximize our efforts to continue accompanying each member of the UNR who needs it ”, he described.
The rector remarked that "this year there are 100 percent increases in scholarships for comprehensive assistance and study material, which is not only access to books and photocopies but also very important materials and elements in many disciplines to continue with the university career”.
“We continue adding months to the scholarships because we are aware of the difficulties that exist today, the impact of the inflationary process, until a few years ago the amounts were granted from May to December, last year we added April, and this year from March to December, The priority is always to care, to be present with those who need it most," he added.

"The comprehensive benefit program includes specific UNR scholarships, Progresar scholarships, and Belgrano scholarships. In 2023 there will be around 18 students who will be accompanied by one of these devices. It is a very big and much-needed effort." concluded.
What the interns say
The testimonials of the beneficiaries transform the numbers into warm experiences that enhance the effort to strengthen the scholarship program. Luciana Scalia is one of the Social Work students who received support last year to study at the Faculty of Political Science and International Relations. ”Studying at UNR is a very nice experience. I was able to study calmly knowing that there was a scholarship helping me financially and very good attention, ”she said. While Isabella Milagros López, Nursing student at the Faculty of Medical Sciences added: “The scholarship was very important to continue studying, since I did not have anyone to help me financially and I could not work due to study times. With the scholarship I bought books, photocopies and study materials”.
Oriana Joana Muñóz, studies Architecture and has had the University Access Scholarship since she finished high school. “That allowed me to buy the necessary materials for the first year of college and help my parents with the expenses of the race. I use the benefit of the UNR canteens daily because I study almost all day and I take the opportunity to order my food directly there. In addition to all that, having support from the student welfare people was key, they always helped me resolve any doubts I had”.
Tamara Mía Gutiérrez, a Psychology student, expressed that “the scholarship was a very important help and a motivation to continue studying, since, although the university is public, it requires certain expenses. A scholarship really is an opportunity, and a push that helps you get through your career. I also had very good accompaniment from the team that is in charge of the scholarship program.”
Jorge Gustavo López Mamani, a guitar student at the Faculty of Humanities and Arts, also highlights the academic and social accompaniment as well as economic. “Having implemented tutors within the scholarships was one of the greatest achievements for the support, progress and permanence of students in the university. That led me to close my university stage. It is not just financial aid, but something more comprehensive and community. It is important to take advantage of the spaces and tutors they provide, since they help you to integrate into university life ”, he highlighted.
