The meeting, promoted by REXUNI, within the framework of the National Interuniversity Council, will take place on June 10, 11 and 12, 2026 in Rosario and will bring together universities from all over the country to discuss the social role of higher education.
La Universidad Nacional de Rosario will host the XI National Congress of University Extension, a meeting promoted by the National Network of University Extension (REXUNI), within the framework of the National Interuniversity Council (CIN), which will bring together students, teachers, non-teaching staff, graduates and community actors linked to university extension from all over the country.
In a context marked by the underfunding of the university system, Congress is projected as a strategic space for reaffirm the value of the public university, its link with society and its ability to build collective responses to current challenges.
University outreach occupies a central place in this debate. Far from being considered a secondary function, the meeting proposes strengthening its integration into teaching and learning processes, promoting experiences that connect academic knowledge with community knowledge.
From this perspective, the Congress will bring into dialogue university practices, research and policies that seek to consolidate a university more open, inclusive and committed to its territoryThe goal is to move towards models that recognize the comprehensive education of students, where the outreach experience is not a complement, but a constitutive part of their academic trajectory.
In turn, the meeting is part of a historical tradition of the Argentine university system, sustained by the unity, diversity and social support, key elements for thinking about the present and projecting the future of public education.
For three days, Rosario will be a meeting point to share experiences, debate approaches and build common agendas around themes such as educational inclusion, human rights, health, the environment, the social economy, culture and communication, among others.
