She explained that for the UNR, “it is not only strategic to project itself internationally, but also that ranking in these lists allows us to compare ourselves with European and American universities to improve our standards.”

Comprehensive vision

Considered one of the most influential in the world, the QS Ranking evaluated more than 21000 academic programs from 1900 universities in 100 countries, across 55 disciplines and five major areas of knowledge: arts and humanities, engineering and technology, life sciences, natural sciences, and social sciences, using indicators such as academic reputation, employability, international research network, and sustainability.

It does not simply measure prestige; its methodology combines multiple indicators to offer a comprehensive view of university performance. Among the most relevant criteria are:

Academic reputation: Based on global surveys of academics, this indicator remains one of the pillars of the ranking. Universities such as Harvard, Oxford, and Cambridge maintain privileged positions thanks to their historical influence and scientific output.

Employer reputation and job outcomes: the Employment Outcomes indicator is gaining increasing importance. Institutions like MIT, Stanford, and Oxford achieve scores close to 100, confirming their ability to place graduates in the world's most competitive job markets.

International research network: global collaboration is now a decisive factor. Universities such as Oxford and UCL excel in this area, with scores approaching the maximum possible, reflecting strategic alliances across multiple continents.

Sustainability and global impact: the sustainability component gains prominence in 2026. ETH Zurich stands out with one of the highest scores in this indicator, positioning itself as a European benchmark in research oriented towards sustainable development.
