The QS ranking highlights UNR as the fourth public university in the country, among the best 100 Latin American universities and among the thousand globally.

La Universidad Nacional de Rosario (UNR) was highlighted among the thousand best universities in the world by the QS ranking, which also places it fourth among the country's public universities, tenth among the public and private universities in Argentina and among the hundred best in Latin America.

The study is presented each year by the British consultancy Quacquarelli Symonds (QS) specializing in the analysis of higher education at an international level. Of the 24 universities in the world, this ranking evaluates the XNUMX most outstanding and influential institutions of higher education globally with the aim of providing the academic community with a detailed report on each one.

The QS this year changed the composition of its measurement system since it incorporated new parameters to the six indicators that it had been evaluating, in addition to modifying the influence of each one of these variables in the conformation of the final score.

The high points in which the UNR stands out are: first, the Academic Reputation, based on surveys of academics from around the world. Then there is the Employer Reputation, which measures the responses of employers by asking them to identify institutions that they consider excellent for recruiting graduates. Finally, the UNR stands out in the index that considers the Teacher-Student ratio at the level of the educational community.

The rector Franco Bartolacci expressed himself regarding the results. "I always try to be cautious with these assessments, when they do not work for us and when they do work for us, as in this case, since difficultly comparable situations are compared because the format of the public higher education system in Argentina is particular, it is unique in the world for its free and free admission. The same is always good news and an encouragement around the regional and international projection that we try to do from our university ”, he pointed out.

The indicators that were measured were six until last year: Academic Reputation, Employer Reputation, number of Professors per Student, Scientific Production, International Professors and International Students. From now on, three more parameters are evaluated: Sustainability, Employability and International Research Network.

This implies that Academic Reputation and Teachers for Students -states in which the UNR stands out- lost percentage weight, while the new categories gain influence in the score that determines the place in the ranking.

Within the framework of these variants, it becomes more valuable for the UNR to consolidate as the fourth (4th) best ranked Public University in Argentina, only behind the University of Buenos Aires (UBA), the National University of La Plata (UNLP) and the National University of Córdoba (UNC). If the focus is made between the Public and Private Universities, the UNR is the only one in Rosario that is positioned among the 10 best in Argentina.

This gives dimension to the importance of staying among the thousand best in the world and increases the commitment to continue progressing with the constant purpose of the search for excellence, innovation, and the training of professionals with ethics and responsibility.

In addition to increasing scientific production and research, academic participation in scientific journals and inclusion in international networks, dimensions that are also important for the QS ranking, as well as for other international measurements that have become benchmarks for the quality of higher education systems. .
