The 31st edition took place at the University of the Republic on November 6, 7 and 8.
A delegation of twelve researchers from the Universidad Nacional de Rosario participated in the 31st Young Researchers Conference of the Association of Montevideo Group Universities (AUGM). On this occasion, the event was organized by the University of the Republic, based in the city of Montevideo, Uruguay, and was held under the motto “Higher education, collective well-being and democratic coexistence.”
The objective of the JJII, which involved the participation of approximately 800 researchers from member universities in the network, is focused on the dissemination of scientific projects developed within the framework of various topics, in order to promote integration and encourage the formation of future research and joint work networks.

In this context, the performance of the researchers representing UNR was of excellent quality and prominence, with Francisco Pons receiving the distinction in the undergraduate student category in the topic of "Bioactive natural products and their applications".
We congratulate the participation and development of our researchers. Scientific communication, the exchange of knowledge and the consequent construction of possible research networks are the path to strengthening our universities. In this case, from an endogenous and comprehensive perspective of the regional context.
The importance of a free, quality public university lies in its ability to train qualified professionals who are committed to their time and to the social problems of the region in which they live.
Meeting of the Academic Committee on Agri-Food
For its part, the Agri-Food Academic Committee (CAA) of AUGM actively participated in the 2024 Olympic Games. During the sessions, the UNR representative and coordinator of the committee, Dr. Rosana Rotondo, professor at the Faculty of Agricultural Sciences, together with other members of the CAA, moderated and evaluated the oral presentations in the thematic area of agri-food.
On Thursday 7th in the afternoon, a hybrid workshop was offered on various topics in the agri-food sector, in which several representatives of member universities spoke, with the presence of professionals, students and the general public.
At the end of the workshop, the third CAA meeting was held in 2024, with the presence of 6 Universities and 4 virtually, in which a postgraduate course, a scientific dissemination day and a webinar on agricultural production and the environment continued to be planned. In turn, the progress of pending digital publications and other proposals for joint work were analyzed.
We appreciate the support of the Universities, especially the UNR, for continuing to support young researchers, in-person events and the interdisciplinary activities of the committees and groups that make up the AUGM network.
