La Universidad Nacional de Rosario opens registration to the University Residence Program for the 2026 school year, which aims to promote access, permanence and graduation of those students who, due to their social and economic situation, lack the resources to fully pay for accommodation.
“We are paying off a debt our University owed. We are trying to increase initiatives that can support our students, especially those who have the greatest difficulty continuing their university studies,” said Rector Franco Bartolacci, adding: “During the first three years of the University Residence Program, we supported the students, listened to their experiences, their concerns, and learned their stories. We are very pleased and determined to continue strengthening this program.”
Applicants to obtain a place in the University Residency Program must be regular students of one of the university or tertiary degree courses taught at the UNR, and attend as a regular student in person. If they are entrants in 2026, they must have completed pre-registration for their academic unit to be able to apply.
In addition, those who wish to apply to obtain a place must come from locations outside the 50 km area of the city of Rosario and meet all the requirements linked to the income of the family group that are established in the regulations.

UNR currently has three residence halls. The first building in the University Residence Program, located at 1470 Santa Fe Street, opened in 2022 and features a common study area on the ground floor and another common study area on the mezzanine for residents.
The second, which opened in early 2024, is located at Tucumán 2257 and is managed jointly by the Municipality of Cañada de Gómez and El Trébol. The third, located on the upper floor of the building at 450 PA Moreno Street, began operating in February of this year, in conjunction with the Municipality of Venado Tuerto.
“Residences are of paramount importance today. Until 2023, there were none; two years later, there are now three, and we will continue working with municipalities and communes in Santa Fe to add more spaces,” noted Rector Bartolacci.

Together, the three UNR Residence Halls have 206 vacancies. "We know that the ability to live in the city of Rosario to pursue a university degree is often a defining issue for continuing their studies. We want more students to be able to live in Rosario and fulfill their dream of becoming professionals," Bartolacci explained.
Those living in the residence halls will be in constant contact with a team of specialized psychologists, who will not only monitor each student's academic progress but will also address any issues that may arise during their time together.
Program beneficiaries must be academically active during the first four months of the academic year. This status will be verified by the Student Welfare Office by June 30th of this year by comparing information from the GUARANÍ system or by submitting the Academic Record, which students can download from the website becas.unr.edu.ar.
Those who have previously registered must repeat the process, logging in with the same username and password. Those registering for the first time must first create a username on the website.
The UNR University Residence Hall Program, along with the Scholarship Program and the University Dining Hall Program, serve as tools to ensure the university community can continue their studies.
