The INET is the agency of the Ministry of Education and Sports, which is in charge of coordinating the application of public policies related to the development and strengthening of Professional Technical Education.
It is within its interests to promote the continuous improvement of the quality of Professional Technical Education, adapting the educational offer to productive and territorial needs.
It has two permanent areas of consultation and agreement, with whom it prepares the proposals to be presented to the Federal Council of Education for approval:

- Federal Commission of Professional Technical Education.
- National Council of Education, Work and Production.
The main objectives are:

- strengthen the professional technical training, facilitating the process of incorporating youth into the world of work and the continuous training of adults throughout their active lives.
- Develop an integrated system of Professional Technical Education that articulates the levels of secondary/polymodal and higher education among themselves and these with the various institutions and extracurricular training and training programs for and at work.
- Strengthen the identity of Vocational Technical Education, signify its strategic nature in terms of socio-economic development, value its social and educational status, update its institutional models and its intervention strategies.
- Facilitate the student or worker the continuity of their studies, both at the intermediate/polymodal or higher level and in Vocational Training, in any region of the country.
Among their responsibilities are:

- Coordinate and promote national and federal programs aimed at strengthening technological, technical education and vocational training, articulated with the different levels and cycles of the National Educational System.
- Implement cooperation strategies and actions between different entities, institutions and organizations – governmental and non-governmental – that allow consensus around policies.
- Develop strategies and actions aimed at linking and articulating the areas of education.
The policies of Technical Professional Education in Argentina seek to guarantee:

- The incorporation of the youth to the world of work and the continuous training of adults throughout their active lives.
- The development of an integrated system of Professional Technical Education that articulates the levels of Secondary/Polimodal and higher education among themselves and these with the various institutions.
- Strengthening the identity of Vocational Technical Education, its strategic nature in terms of socio-economic development and its social and educational status.
- The continuity of their studies for any student or worker, both at the Intermediate/Polimodal or Higher level as well as Vocational Training, in any region of the country.
- La equal opportunities in the access, trajectory and graduation of the different Professional Technical Education offers for young people and adults.
- The material and building conditions for the development of a quality educational trajectory.
