The UNR will participate in the III World Forum on Human Rights with more than 65 exhibitors from different academic units.
From March 20 to 24, the third edition of the World Forum on Human Rights will be held in the Autonomous City of Buenos Aires. Organized by UNESCO, the Forum "is a space for public debate on Human Rights in the world, the main advances and challenges focused on respect for differences, social participation, the reduction of inequalities, promoting equity and social inclusion . It is designed to bring together and integrate national, regional and international organizations committed to the enforcement of human rights”.
The Universidad Nacional de Rosario, through the coordination carried out by the Human Rights Area, more than 65 exhibitors will participate, presenting 26 different activities, which address topics such as: “Politics, Memory, Truth and Justice and guarantee of non-repetition”, “Environment and sustainable development”, “Communication and Human Rights”, “Right to Science and access to knowledge”, “Access to Justice”, “Communities and indigenous peoples”, “Right to the city and urban conflicts”, “Health and Human Rights”, “Education and Human Rights”, “Economy and Human Rights”, “Gender and Diversity”, “Right to identity”, “Children, adolescents and youth”, “Disability and Human Rights”.
In its third edition, it aspires to continue deepening the dialogue, updating the diagnosis of the situation on the main advances and challenges in the promotion and protection of human rights in the world; exchange successful experiences, innovative proposals and promote the exchange of knowledge and horizontal cooperation between the participants at a national, regional and international level.
In the year of forty years of Democracy, Argentina is positioned as one of the leading countries in the field of Rights, presiding over the Human Rights Council of the United Nations Organization with the aim of achieving more just, diverse and inclusive societies. . In this sense, great references worldwide, such as Estela de Carlotto, Adolfo Pérez Esquivel, Nora Cortiñas and Atilio Borón will be present in different activities. In addition, former Latin American presidents such as José Pepe Mujica, Evo Morales and Rafael Correa will be present, forming special panels on: "Democracy and human rights in a turbulent world", "Hate speech, neo-fascism and human rights" and "40 years of democracy: struggles, learnings and challenges”.
During 2022 and early 2023, pre-forums were held in different parts of the country such as Tucumán, Río Gallegos, Neuquén, La Plata, Chaco, La Rioja, Santa Rosa-Mendoza. In addition, two international pre-forums were held in Morocco and Chile.
The Forum will be held in the City of Buenos Aires and will have four venues: The Kirchner Cultural Center, the Faculty of Architecture, Design and Urbanism of the UBA, the Memory Space and Human Rights Ex - ESMA and the headquarters of the National Energy Commission Atomic.
