Awareness and strengthening workshop for the Student Centers of the Secondary Schools of Rosario grouped in the Federation of Secondary Students (FESER).

A workshop was held with secondary school students to reflect on gender violence, collective strategies to prevent it, and tools for active listening and peer support. The workshops are promoted and organized by the UNR Gender and Sexualities Area (AGeSex.) The meeting was held at the Escuela Superior de Comercio and the coordination was in charge of Florencia Catelani, and the shared dynamics were carried out by Sofía Gorini, Joaquín Aira, Julia Batallán and Romina Marro, members of AGeSex. The Student Centers of the Secondary Schools of Rosario belonging to the FESER participated.

These actions arose within the framework of the development of the UNR extension project "We Count" that has been carried out since 2019 with the aim of recovering recent memories of the irruption of feminisms from the perspective of young people, and also recovers their perceptions about the implementation of Comprehensive Sexual Education in secondary schools in Rosario and its metropolitan area.

The spirit of the proposal starts from reviewing the adult-centric perspective, including the voice of the students and their concrete experiences. It also aims to strengthen the tools and strategies built from the Student Centers and their gender and human rights secretariats.

ESI for students

The results of the project have been reflected in the virtual platform "We Count" https://nosotrescontamos.unr.edu.ar/ Produced by AGeSex in coordination with the Multimedia Communication Department of the UNR.

This new stage of the project is oriented towards the promotion of meeting and reflection spaces, after identifying that the return to full face-to-face attendance after the COVID-19 pandemic, intensified student demand to problematize aspects such as consent, grooming, cyberbullying, as well as the inclusion policies and strategies for addressing situations of violence.

The workshops and spaces for collective reflection promoted by A.Ge.Sex are designed to collectively build proposals for a careful approach, active listening and non-revictimization, providing relevant information on spaces for attention and accompaniment in situations of violence inside and outside the school space. .

In this sense, this week workshops were held at the Higher Polytechnic Institute and the "Carlos Guido y Spano" School of Technical Education on consent.

The reported initiative is articulated with actions initiated this year within the framework of a new Extension Project that aims to accompany the design and implementation of situated strategies for the mainstreaming of Comprehensive Sexual Education in the activities carried out by the Solidarity Educational Brigades, in three points of the city of Rosario (Barrio Triángulo Moderno, Molino and Villa Banana) in which they are implementing proposals for pedagogical accompaniment and school reconnection with children and adolescents. Likewise, it is aimed at strengthening collective plots for the implementation of ESI by promoting dialogues with actors and actresses central to the process, which favor access to sexual rights, counseling and prevention of situations of violence.
