Group: Regional Environmental Knowledge Laboratory (LASAR)
The LASAR is a Laboratory of the ISHIR-CONICET/UNR, which aims to think, debate and reflect on environmental problems, in dialogue with gender and History. It is an interdisciplinary research space open to historians, researchers from various disciplines, teachers, students and people involved in the subject from activism and militancy. With these objectives, it is postulated as a transversal area of dialogue to share knowledge about the environment focused on a regional key and that provides a socio-historical perspective on it. Furthermore, it is thought of as a space that acts as a link between academic and societal actors (NGOs, activists, teaching, etc.) linked to the environment, in order to connect the wealth of knowledge that each of them contributes.
The Laboratory develops three axes of work, linked to the current areas of interest of the coordinators: Agroecology, Food Sovereignty and Environmental Education.
Project 1
1. Title: The ecological under the prism of the history of justice. From Environmental Law to the Rights of Nature: subjects of law, institutions and legal traditions (Argentina, XNUMXth and XNUMXth centuries)
2. Brief overview: This research traces the notions of environmental justice and ecological justice based on their inscriptions in anthropocentrism and biocentrism, respectively, reflecting on the contents and uses of each in various instances of socio-environmental conflict. Based on different records and dialogue with Law, Anthropology, Sociology, Biology, it builds contributions on the beginnings of animal protectionism in Argentina, as well as on methodological strategies to analyze the exploitation and trade of common goods such as certain wild fauna that lives in the province of Santa Fe. Transfer options to the educational field through Biocentric Education are also proposed.

Project 2
1. Title: Women who feed families: innovation processes in production, marketing and value addition in agroecological production systems in southern Santa Fe.
2. Brief overview: This research aims to generate knowledge relevant to agroecology and also form an STS that enables the construction with a gender perspective of an innovation for price determination that reflects the material conditions of production, that is, the productive and reproductive times involved. We recognize ourselves in an interpretive framework that recovers the contributions of agroecological production to overcome economic, gender and environmental inequities; and for this it is essential to value the trajectories of women producers of agroecological foods.
