:: RATIONALE: The Specialization in Childhood and Adolescence is a postgraduate program that provides an interdisciplinary approach to the various aspects of childhood and adolescence. Based on a cross-cutting theme that addresses law, public policy, mental health, and institutions, it approaches the subject matter with a socio-historical, practical, and future-oriented perspective, providing students with tools for both the theoretical understanding of the subject and for practical application in public and private institutions working with children and adolescents.
It has a practical load in community institutions that provide recognition of the exercise of disciplines, an interdisciplinary perspective and an experience that in turn make it possible to rethink one's own practices and institutional practices, propose alternatives, project effects of the actions of public policies.
It is also made up of a series of seminars throughout the course that provide tools for theoretical research.
Lastly, they present a series of virtual master classes that are taught outside the course of the seminars that make up the curriculum and that are in charge of specialists in the field, of national and international projection, who in turn serve to start subjects for each semester. These master classes are given by professionals from law, psychology, social work, anthropology, political science and medicine. All of them have childhood and adolescence as their axis and provide a specific perspective on a theme or concept that is later developed in the following Seminars. They are not mandatory for students and their offer varies year by year.
:: DURATION AND MODALITY: The Specialization in Childhood and Adolescence lasts 2 years, divided into 4 consecutive four-month modules, thus ensuring that the same group of students will share the entire course experience, exchange prior knowledge and acquired experiences, producing collective and interdisciplinary knowledge and further enriching the training process.
The dictation of the Specialization is face-to-face (began in July 2022). It has virtual classes and two seminars with hours of practice in institutions.
