The American-Israeli physician and scientist led major research programs in reproductive medicine and is the author of 800 publications.

At an event held on March 7 at the Faculty of Medical Sciences, UNR awarded the title of Doctor Honoris Causa to Dr. Eli Adashi. The ceremony, which took place via a virtual connection since the honoree resides in the United States, was presided over by Rector Franco Bartolacci, the dean of the Faculty and godfather of the doctoral student, Jorge Molinas, and Honorary Professor Roberto Tozzini.

Dr. Eli Adashi is a leading physician and academic specializing in reproductive endocrinology. He is a Professor of Medical Sciences at Brown University and was Dean of Medicine and Biological Sciences at Brown University.

Throughout his career, he served as president of several medical societies and received numerous honors. He worked at renowned institutions, including Johns Hopkins University and Harvard University, and led important research programs in fertility and ovarian cancer.

He has also authored nearly 800 publications. “His contribution to reproductive medicine and his involvement in various global health initiatives have established him as a reference in his field,” said Dr. Tozzini in the laudatio.

Following the appointment, the Rosario Medical Sciences Foundation “Prof. Rafael M. Pineda” appointed Dr. Eli Adashi as an International Honorary Member of this Institution. On the occasion, the president of the Foundation, Alberto Muniagurria, stated that “by incorporating this distinguished colleague, we are taking a firm step towards the objectives of education, which are to train for human, social and ethical nobility.”

Finally, Dr. Eli Adashi gave a keynote lecture entitled: “Gametogenesis in vitro.”
