ABOUT THE COURSE

If you are a graduate of this course you will:

  • Be able to model parts in 3D through parameters and constraints.
  • Understand the difference between organic and parametric modeling, along with their uses and applications.
  • Understand the different file formats and the application of each one.
  • Recognize and execute the optimal number of operations necessary to model a part.

You will be able to develop in:

  • Understand the essence of parametric design programs.
  • Using SolidWorks software to model technical parts.
  • Use of basic and advanced parametric 3D modeling tools.

REQUIREMENTS

  • EXCLUDING: Access to PC to carry out Practical Work.
  • Be over 18 years old.
  • Internet access.
  • PC knowledge: file and folder management; use of internet browsers, downloading files from the web and installing software; concept and management of creating files and folders, searching for files on the computer, using Windows Explorer, knowledge of menus and keyboard abbreviations, cutting, copying and pasting, etc.
  • Access to the program SolidWorks (Preferably version 2015 onwards): Course attendees must have the software installed on their own computer prior to the start of the course (the course does not provide the software or its installation).
  • Have a desktop or laptop PC with the following features or higher:
    • OpenGL 2, OpenGL 4.1 compatible graphics card for 3D layer view.
    • Screen resolution 1920 x 1080.
    • Intel Core i5 5th generation or higher.
    • 20GB of available hard disk space.
    • 8GB RAM memory.
  • 75% attendance, class participation and final work approved.

What objectives does the course have?

It provides necessary tools so that professionals from different areas can use the different computer-aided design (CAD) techniques to design, model and survey parts. At the same time, this course is an excellent complement for those who wish to incorporate 3D Printing or any digital manufacturing method into their creative and productive processes.

IMPORTANT: Only one course registration per person is allowed.
