:: RATIONALE:
This Undergraduate Diploma in Literacy Practices in Non-Formal Contexts offers situated and interdisciplinary training that integrates knowledge from psychology, pedagogy, linguistics, and popular education. It aims to contribute to the training of educators capable of designing and implementing literacy programs that recognize the learner as a knowing agent, with prior knowledge, experiences, and meanings constructed around written language. This training program promotes the transition from intuitive and artisanal practices to pedagogical practices grounded in solid theoretical and didactic frameworks.
The Diploma program addresses the unique characteristics of non-formal literacy processes for children, youth, and adults, promoting teaching strategies tailored to each population. Its interdisciplinary approach allows for a comprehensive, critical, and contextualized understanding of literacy practices, thus contributing to the professional development of literacy educators who can support more equitable, inclusive, and meaningful educational pathways.
