:: RATIONALE:

Neuro-otology is a discipline whose birth can be attributed to the awarding of the Nobel Prize in Medicine to Robert Bárány in 1914. Despite almost 100 years having passed, two contextual situations condition the current limited knowledge of this branch of health, which is the Vestibular Medicine: firstly, its interdisciplinarity, the fact that it is a health area shared by Doctors -Clinical, ENT, Neurologists, Ophthalmologists-, Audiologists, Speech Therapy, Kinesiologists, Physical Therapists, Medical Technologists, Psychologists. Secondly, the important advances that have taken place, especially in the last 20 years. Vestibular Medicine is dedicated to the prevention, clinical and functional evaluation, diagnosis and treatment of disorders of balance, hearing and their relationship with the central nervous system y peripheral, covering, therefore, the dysfunctions and alterations of the systems college entrance exams and auditory at the level of the two nervous systems.

The need to critically reflect on the current forms of knowledge production is essential to combine theories of this discipline, according to the demand of the population's manifest morbidity. Having knowledge in this regard that comes from the voice of researchers is a necessary contribution to the formulation and discussion of these problems, at the heart of which is the redefinition of the functions of the current university.
