The UNR seeks to generate conversation on different topics that arise from the public agenda and are of interest to the community, for this reason the work of scientific promotion was promoted, with the intention of promoting interdisciplinary research, data collection, reports with scientific rigor, analysis statistics to encourage discussion and development of new indicators.

Data Use

Since 2019, the UNR has had this information production and analysis node that aims to understand an increasingly diverse and complex reality, with the aim of generating contributions around the construction of new categories and ways of analyzing social phenomena. Among its objectives is the production of indicators and their dissemination to contribute to the debate and the information needs for decision-making by local, state and non-state actors.

Its purpose is to measure -in a first stage- the magnitude, evolution and characteristics of economic and social phenomena such as poverty, the occupational situation and the economic activity of Rosario and the region; complementing the analysis of the local social reality with transversal approaches: gender, life cycle (especially in boys, girls, young people and older adults); and sustainability (right to enjoy a healthy and non-degraded environment).

Observatories

The Directorate of Interdisciplinary Research has under its orbit an Observatories Coordination that seeks, among its main objectives, to assist, prioritize and make visible the work of research groups, study centers, meetings between peers who wish to institutionalize their work in the Science Area. , Technology and Innovation for Development.

Understanding the observatories as flexible and agile devices that allow intercalating research and concrete action based on the knowledge built, the creation of these is promoted in order to enhance the work carried out by various actors in the university community in their day-to-day life. Currently, four observatories operate in this Coordination, namely: Observatory of Religious Cultures (OCuRe), Observatory of Education and Environment, Observatory of Tourism (OTur), and Observatory of Sports.

Observatory reports

The Observatory is proposed as the scientific-technical field from which the Universidad Nacional de Rosario articulate with the territorial actors of the tourism sector, in order to accompany, support, facilitate and encourage, from a multidisciplinary and systemic perspective, a process of socio-economic development of the sector that is competitive, diversified, sustainable, equitable, innovative and inclusive.

From the Observatory on Religious Cultures we propose to monitor the dynamics of religious cultures in society and in the public space, providing the community with information and analysis keys on the presence of religion in political life.
Objectives:

  1. Contribute to reflection on the links between religious cultures, public spaces and political life
  2. Promote the exchange between institutions and actors from the religious space and the academic field
  3. Participate in public debate
  4. Offer inputs for the elaboration of public policies
  5. Promote information curation tasks for the investigation of the religious phenomenon

Broadly speaking, the observatory intends to contribute to the diagnosis and strengthening of the institutionalization of environmental education in the different academic units.
Among the interests of the work team is to promote the debate on environmental education on the public agenda, as well as to raise awareness and mobilize the different actors of civil society to participate in the public debate on environmental education.
Specific objectives:

  • Generate instances of articulation with the educational community —primary schools, middle schools— in matters of prevention and promotion of environmental education.
  • Encourage a culture of use of information to improve the quality of the population.
  • Provide a database to the researchers of the different universities of the country, as well as to the officials belonging to the national, provincial and municipal government.
  • Design outreach strategies to the local and regional community.

Virtual classroom for Environmental Promoters

From the Observatory of Sports they propose to build a device for the production of quantitative and qualitative information on Sport and sports institutions in Greater Rosario.
Specific objectives:

  • Establish a linkage between the initiatives oriented to the study of sport within the framework of the UNR that promotes the production of interdisciplinary knowledge around said object of study.
  • Generate inputs for the elaboration of public policies oriented to Sport.
  • Collaborate with the authorities and secretariats of the Faculty (Extension and Liaison, Institutional Relations, among others) in their relationship with the environment.
