Registration will begin at the end of the year and will be held at the gymnasium building on Moreno and Urquiza Streets. Classes begin in April.
The Faculty of Human Movement Sciences and Care Universidad Nacional de Rosario (UNR) is preparing to begin operations in 2026 with four new programs: Physical Education Teaching, Bachelor's Degree in Sports, Bachelor's Degree in Comprehensive Care Systems, and a Technical Degree in Elderly Support. The creation of what will be the 13th faculty at UNR was approved at the end of last year by the Superior Council.
The administrative headquarters of the new Faculty will be located in the building that currently houses the UNR Gymnasium, at the Urquiza Street entrance. The printing press and radio station currently operate in that space, but will gradually move to other buildings in the coming years.
The curricula are currently being submitted to the Superior Council. The new undergraduate programs will last four years, while the technical program will last three years. Enrollment will not be concurrent with the rest of the undergraduate programs, but will begin closer to the end of the year, as was the case with the Bachelor's Degree in Data Science last year. Classes will begin next April, as in the rest of the UNR faculties.
These new proposals will be part of the Career Expo, which will be held next week, September 17, 18, and 19, providing an opportunity for students to learn more about the proposals.

Rector Franco Bartolacci explained that these new programs incorporate a different, more comprehensive approach to care, as well as an institutional design. "This is the first faculty we're starting from scratch. First, a new faculty is being created because academic expansion has been so strong in recent years that to accommodate the continued growth of the University, a new space is needed. What we have is no longer enough, and I'm not referring to physical space, but to institutional space."
“And second, because it was the opportunity to build a more flexible, more cross-cutting institutional design, more in tune with the times we're living in. In general, ours are more traditional, with more rigid structures that sometimes conspire against the possibility of doing certain things. Of course, a faculty from scratch has the advantage of being able to think about it from a more modern perspective,” he explained.
Bartolacci also explained that "the good thing about the Bachelor's Degree in Care, for example, is that it has comprehensive content; it will include social work, psychology, nursing, medicine, biochemistry; it's a more comprehensive approach, so since all problems are today, they can't be solved from a single discipline; that no longer exists."
The last time a faculty was created was in 1987, when the Faculty of Psychology was created based on the School of Psychology that operated within the Faculty of Humanities and Arts.
