Academic coordinator: Dr. Florencia Rovetto

:: RATIONALE FOR CERTIFICATION :

In recent years, debates and discussions around sexist violence, both in theoretical and academic terms and in its social dimension, have spread and disseminated widely, reaching leading positions in different fields of knowledge and politics.
In this process, sexist violence has been conceptualized in its structural nature, as a reflection and (re)productive phenomenon of asymmetric and unequal power relations based on gender among other cleavages of social segregation such as class,
race, age, disability.
La Universidad Nacional de Rosario has been a pioneer in generating spaces for academic exchange as well as practices and proposals for action that seek to eradicate the conditions that make it possible for sexist violence to persist in society.
daily life of our institutions. In these years, training experiences have been developed in relation to sexist violence, which are taken as background and as a support base in which this Specific Competences Course is enrolled. The course Multiply Networks: virtual notes on sexist violence, is one of these references, which throughout its four editions crystallized the demand and urgency of incorporating these debates in the field of higher education, offering tools to address violence. sexist practices that favor the deconstruction of common senses and transform concrete practices within institutions.
In turn, the proposal of this Course is linked to the implementation of the Micaela Law (No. 27.499) in our University, with the objective of deepening what is addressed there and promoting comprehensive training processes that contribute to identifying gender inequalities, recognizing the expressions of sexist violence that sustain them and develop strategies for their eradication. With this course we aspire to training and raising awareness about the problem of sexist violence, based on a program that allows us to reach all UNR cloisters, thus expanding the effective application of Law 27.499 and the scope of the Training Program. Micaela Law Training – UNR (Res.CS-Nº297-2019) implemented by the Gender and Sexualities Area (AGESEX).
The experiences collected from the four editions of Multiply Redes show that, in addition to the conceptual and theoretical tools acquired in the training journey, these training instances are essential for the construction of a critical mass that can accompany, prevent and generate innovative initiatives. in order to transform the heteropatriarchal structures of educational institutions. Training with a gender perspective, the visibility of daily violence and the problematization of specific manifestations in educational institutions generate a fundamental budget to remove the patriarchal foundations of our educational institutions.
As Figueroa and Rovetto (2020) mention, making the views around sexist violence more complex is part of the effort to develop actions to address and prevent it that require the implementation of strategies sustained over time,
built from the diagnosis of each institutional and social context, which allow the leap to community perspectives to think about the eradication of violence. We are referring to proposals that seek to eliminate tolerance to such violence, promoting various forms of social sanction and the design of reparatory policies towards those who suffer from it.
