The first cohort of the University Certification in Argentine Sign Language began last Tuesday, July 29th.
With more than 300 people enrolled, the inaugural cohort began with 25 students in person and 44 online, from various provinces such as Santa Fe, Entre Ríos, Chaco, Mendoza, Misiones, Formosa, San Juan, Salta, and Buenos Aires.
The participating profiles include deaf people with teaching experience in Argentine Sign Language (minimum 3 years), hearing people with at least 3 years of study in associations for the deaf, hearing CODA people (children of deaf adults), and family members with knowledge of sign language, which reflects the diversity and scope of this proposal.
This initiative is the result of a collaborative effort between the UNR Human Rights Department, the Center for Interdisciplinary Studies (CEI), the Rosario Civil Association for the Deaf (ACSoR), and the Rosario Civil Association for the Deaf (CSCDPS).
