Amorim has always promoted and defended Latin American integration, understanding that the relationship between Argentina and Brazil is the backbone of regional integration.

The new Doctor Honoris Causa spoke of the importance of the role of Argentina and Brazil in setting the course in the region and highlighted the participation of a progressive Mexico, and the changes in Chile and Colombia and other countries, "with the growing criticism of the neoliberalism, not only from the Academy, but also in the street”

The dean of the Faculty of Political Science, Gustavo Marini, was the godfather of Celso Amorín in his appointment, "this distinction is a recognition of our University for his remarkable career and, at the same time, for his contributions in defense of people, values ​​and the interests of our beloved South America”, expressed Marini.

The event was attended by various personalities from the academic and political spheres who greeted Celso Amorín through a video and through his messages. Among the personalities that participated in the act were Rafael Bielsa, Jorge Taiana, Marco Enrique Oniman and Ernesto Samper, among others.
