To mark the centenary of the birth of composers Luciano Berio and Pierre Boulez, the School of Music of the Faculty of Humanities and Arts will honor their musical productions from June 23 to 28.

With talks, reading sessions, workshops and concerts at the School of Music, the ECU, the foyer of the Teatro el Círculo and also virtually, different aspects of the work of two representatives of 1925th-century musical creation will be addressed: Luciano Berio (Italy 2003-1925) and Pierre Boulez (France 2016-Germany XNUMX).

The in-person talks will be led by UNR professors Dante Grela, Gabriel Data, Sebastián Boeris, and Federico Ferrogiaro, while pianist Haydée Schvartz will give her talk virtually from Buenos Aires.

The reading session will be led by students from the School of Music, who will musically read compositions that dialogue with the works of Luciano Berio and Pierre Boulez, composed by students in the Composition program.

The four-concert series will begin on Wednesday, June 25th, in the foyer of the Teatro El Círculo, with the Municipal Chamber Orchestra and world premieres. Then, on June 26th and 27th, the Contemporary Music Ensemble and students from the Chamber Music Department will perform at the ECU. The closing concert on Saturday, June 28th, will be performed by the Neo Ensemble of La Plata.

The Berio100Boulez activities were organized by the UNR School of Music, the Contemporary Music Ensemble, and the Chair of Chamber Music and Piano Literature of Professor Sebastián Boeris.
