A series organized to address issues related to the use and conservation of water in the region.

The Academic Committee on Water of the Association of Universities of the Montevideo Group (AUGM) in collaboration with the Argentine Network for Training and Strengthening in Integrated Water Resources Management (Arg Cap Net) are organizing, as every year, a new cycle of virtual conferences to address problems related to water as a strategic natural resource for the region and indispensable for human life.

Over the course of five meetings, the cycle proposes a journey through various dimensions of the water issue: the water footprint, strategic management and water supply, irrigation and agricultural production, the impacts of climate change on flows, the application of new technologies to environmental sciences and water quality, floods and the environmental management of dams.

The proposal aims to promote dialogue and the collective construction of knowledge, fostering the exchange of experiences among researchers, educators, professionals, and stakeholders involved in water resource management. It also provides an opportunity to strengthen academic and scientific cooperation networks and contribute to the debate on current and future water-related challenges.

The cycle will take place between August and December 2026, with monthly virtual meetings, one Friday per month at 15pm, and will feature the participation of specialists from universities, scientific organizations and networks linked to water management and will be broadcast through the Zoom Platform, by accessing the following link.
