Aimed at AUGM Universities, with funding of up to $10.000 per project
The Mercociudades Network, through the South-South Cooperation Program, calls on local governments that are members of the network, together with public universities and social organizations in South America, to present cooperation projects, with the possibility of obtaining financing, which can be requested in one or more of the following modalities:
- Technical Assistance
- Exchange of experts and officials
- Internships
- Forums/Workshops/Seminars (*)
- Human Resources Training (*)
- Communication and visibility materials and products (*)
(*) These modalities must be developed within the framework of Technical Assistance or exchange of experts and officials.

The main objective is the promotion of interaction between the member cities of Mercociudades and with third parties, in order to favor the development of the thematic priorities of the Network through South-South cooperation.
The specific objective of this call is to promote the approach of issues prioritized by Mercociudades, through its central slogan "Local action and innovation for Latin American integration: for sustainable, inclusive, and democratic development", based on the thematic axes: Vulnerable populations; Innovation; Gender; Care systems; and Climate Change, and with a transversal view on the ODS: 5, Gender equality and women's empowerment; 10, Reducing inequality within and among countries; 11, Sustainable cities and communities; 16, Promoting just, peaceful and inclusive societies; and 17, Partnerships for the goals; and some of its targets, as well as the New Urban Agenda.
Member cities and associated states of the Mercociudades Network are eligible to participate in the call, and must submit and coordinate their proposals. Member universities of the Montevideo Group University Association are also eligible to participate in the call. Each proposal must include at least two member cities or associated states.
