Aimed at AUGM Universities, with funding of up to $20.000 per project.

This call for proposals arises from the agreement signed between the Montevideo Group University Association (AUGM), the Montevideo City Hall (IM), and the State Society for the Management of Tourism Innovation and Technologies, SA (SEGITTUR). It welcomes proposals for cutting-edge research projects focused on the topic of Smart Tourism Destinations (STD). 

This initiative, which seeks to foster collaboration between universities, local governments, and non-university stakeholders, aims to promote sustainable development, innovation, improved visitor experiences, and destination resilience through emerging technologies and data-driven strategies.

Projects must align with one or more of the following priority axes: DTI Models, Governance, Innovation, Technology, Sustainability and Accessibility (see sub-axes in the bases).

The call is open to AUGM member universities, and is open to associated institutions and stakeholders such as research centers, NGOs, consortia, and local governments (academia and industry). The project team should be comprised of interdisciplinary groups with experience in tourism, technology, environmental sciences, and other areas of applied social sciences. The inclusion of partners such as destinations, SMEs, and community-based organizations, among others, will be considered.
