São Paulo State University launches new call for Portuguese as a Foreign Language Courses 2025

The Júlio de Mesquita Filho State University of São Paulo (UNESP), through the External Relations Office (AREX), is launching the second edition of the “Online Course in Portuguese as a Foreign Language (PLE) – 2025,” aimed at regular undergraduate students at member universities of the Montevideo Group Universities Association (AUGM).

The program will be offered online, asynchronously (with optional weekly synchronous classes) and will take place between August and November 2025, with a total of 60 hours of activities. The levels offered are: Beginner: A2: Basic Portuguese (who had no previous contact with the Portuguese language) and Intermediate B1 (with a focus on academic writing).

La Universidad Nacional de Rosario There will be two places available, one corresponding to each level, and students must meet the following requirements to participate in the program: Be a regular undergraduate student and have good academic performance.

Students who pass the final course project and attend synchronous classes will receive a certificate issued by Unesp.

The deadline for submitting applications to the International Relations Office of each Faculty It is Monday, August 18th and the documentation that students must send - in digital format - is:

  • Certificate of regular student (Academic year 2025)
  • Academic History and Historical Average (with deferrals) 
  • Curriculum vitae
