Consolidation of courses with COIL methodology at UNR, through the AUGM office.

The AUGM Office of UNR is carrying out concrete actions with the aim of operationalizing its internationalization strategy at home, with an emphasis on curriculum internationalization and digital internationalization, with the goal of contributing to the configuration of a hybrid and globally connected university ecosystem from a regional platform.

Among the tools adopted in the 2025 planning to translate these objectives into concrete actions is the design of courses using the COIL methodology (Collaborative International Online Learning). This teaching and learning methodology connects teachers and students from diverse backgrounds, crossing borders and disciplines. It is a form of virtual exchange at three levels: teachers, students, and institutions, through innovative resources to develop students' international and intercultural competencies and their digital competence.

Among the results achieved, we detail the courses that will be implemented during the year 2026:

1- Theme: “Psychoanalysis and contemporary Argentine and Brazilian artistic productions.”

Institutions: Faculty of Psychology of the Universidad Nacional de Rosario and Federal University of Minas Gerais, Brazil.

UNR Coordinating Teacher: Bruno CARIGNANO

This course design, based on the COIL methodology, aims to connect the discipline of psychoanalysis with contemporary Argentine and Brazilian artistic productions, fostering cultural exchange and collaboration between students from Argentine and Brazilian universities. The structure follows the provided grid model, dividing the content into seven weeks of collaborative work.

2- Theme: “Water, power, territory and socio-environmental conflicts: perspectives from Argentina and Brazil”.

Institutions: Faculty of Agricultural Sciences of the Universidad Nacional de Rosario and Federal University of Minas Gerais, Brazil.

UNR Coordinating Professor: Ariel OCANTOS

This eight-week COIL (Collaborative Learning Initiative) offers a space for collaborative learning focused on the comparative study of socio-environmental conflicts related to water and territory. The proposal integrates the political ecology of water, the analysis of hydrosocial territorialities, technical approaches to environmental and health management, and the Latin American critical perspective on conflicts and resistance.

3- Theme: “Nature-based solutions and indicators.”

Institutions: Faculty of Exact Sciences, Engineering and Surveying of the Universidad Nacional de Rosario and University of Santiago de Chile, Chile.

UNR Coordinating Professor: Clara MITCHELL

The course will be aimed at students enrolled in the "Environmental Impact Assessment" course at FCEIA-UNR and students of "Plant Biology for Pedagogy" and "Biotechnology for Chemistry" at the Faculty of Chemistry and Biology of USACH. Students from other courses at both universities may be invited to participate.

4- Theme: “Metamorphosis of work.”

Institutions: Faculty of Architecture, Planning and Design of the Universidad Nacional de Rosario, State University of Campinas (UNICAMP), Brazil.

UNR Coordinating Teacher: Juliana Carpinetti

COIL collaborates with the research team of the World of Work and its Metamorphoses Research Group (GPMT), coordinated by Dr. Ricardo Antunes. One of the main objectives of this academic center is to foster the development of research projects—both individual and collective—by bringing together not only students and faculty from IFCH/UNICAMP, but also in collaboration with a significant number of professors and researchers from other national and international universities. The GPMT's conceptual development throughout its history has focused on the metamorphosis of the world of work in general (Antunes, 1995) and, more recently, on how meaning is given to this particular universe (Antunes, 2005), using the empirical universe comprised of advanced students and young professionals who have recently graduated from the design-based training programs offered at FAPyD.

5- Theme: “Methodological strategy in the teaching of Portuguese.”

Institutions: Faculty of Humanities and Arts of the Universidad Nacional de Rosario, State University of Campinas, Brazil.
