2019 NOTES
Tuesday, November 5 was presented to society on UNR Environmental Observatory with a day on environmental issues, in which our Observatory participated in the panel “Energy Matrix, Production and Access to Public Environmental Information” where the topic “Energy situation and consumption in the socio-productive map of the south of the province of Santa Fe” was discussed.
The panel was shared with Dr. Bernardita Iturraspe, who spoke on “Access to Public Environmental Information” and with Eng. Pablo Bertinat, who spoke on the topic “Energy Transition - An Interdisciplinary Challenge”.
The Environmental Observatory was created with an ambitious objective. It was created with the intention of contributing to global research on the subject from the loci regional, together with the Agenda for Sustainable Development Goals 2030 of the United Nations, on the basis of which strategic alliances can be established aimed at building solid institutions, at the service of peace and justice, through quality education that contributes to the elimination of poverty, the reduction of inequalities and working together for climate action.
Following the publication of the poverty and indigence rates for the first half of 2019, the production of #Nautas, which is broadcast on 5RTv, invited us to speak under the slogan “The Country of Food”.
Monday, September 9 The book “Santa Fe Experience: Productive Transformation and Social Inclusion” was presented, of which the Observatory team is the author of the article “Labor challenges in context. Institutions, state capacities and work in the province of Santa Fe”. The book was sponsored by the UNR University Extension Office, the Government of the Province of Santa Fe and the foundation Friedrich Ebert Argentina; and was coordinated by Lic. María Fernanda Ghilardi and Lic. Joaquín Blanco.
The purpose of the call was to invite prominent social science experts to carry out an evaluation of the progress made in important aspects for the provincial economic development and, fundamentally, to identify the main challenges facing the productive model in order to generate favorable conditions for sustained economic growth and greater social inclusion within the framework of the profound changes that new technologies impose on emerging economies.
In our article we have sought to connect the determinants that at an institutional level influence the formulation of public policies promoted by the province of Santa Fe, in relation to the labor market. Basically, to understand those factors that make the initiatives or interventions carried out at a local level more effective.
In March and for the third consecutive year Rosario participated in the global celebration of Open Data Day (Open Data Day) and this year the Open Government week is added (Open Gov Week). During the month of March, Open Government days were organized, where the member states of the alliance, leaders and citizens from almost 80 countries organized events to share ideas, discuss solutions and commit to face the challenges presented by the participation of the community within a government.
The Economic and Social Observatory | UNR is an intensive user of public data and statistics, for the simple reason that they are the basic input for the writing of its reports. For this reason, this year we actively participated in the cycle of meetings
2018 NOTES
Social Economic Observatory | UNR He actively participates in various commissions of the Economic and Social Council of the Municipality of Rosario (CEyS). The commissions are spaces for discussion around a topic, where representatives of a wide variety of organizations from our city meet. So the topics addressed, although similar to those that appear in the newspapers, can hardly be compared to what is usually read, given the variety of nuances that are presented.
The thematic areas in which the Observatory participates in 2018 are:
- Development, economy and innovation.
- Habitat and Environment.
- Local Governments.
The meetings of the various committees began in May 2018.
During the week of August 27-31, the Observatory participated in the development of the “rosario week 2030 – from challenges to strategies” to build innovative, inclusive and sustainable strategies for the future of Rosario, at the Training and Innovation Center of the Mercado del Patio. The topics discussed were as follows:
- MONDAY 27: “2030 challenges for work strategies, technologies and tourism”
- TUESDAY 28: “2030 challenges for territorial, habitat and mobility strategies”
- WEDNESDAY 29: “2030 challenges for environmental, infrastructure and energy strategies”
- THURSDAY 30: “2030 challenges for care strategies, social cohesion, coexistence and governance”
- FRIDAY 31: “2030 challenges for culture, innovation, sport and well-being strategies”
It is important to note that the Rosario Strategic Plan 2030 This is the third urban, economic and cultural planning design for the city, following the experiences of 1998 and 2008. In both cases, the contribution and discussion of hundreds of institutions was needed, from unions, professionals, companies and even ordinary citizens in the neighborhoods.
