Foundation
The teaching of statistics in the distance modality is based on the benefits that information and communication technologies (ICT) can provide. Students have access to a wide variety of resources and learning materials: videos, readings, interactive exercises, databases and specialized software, etc. constituting a useful didactic support to face the difficulties that arise in the understanding of certain concepts. Regarding Multivariate Statistics, although it emerged around 1930, it is in recent decades that multivariate analysis techniques have experienced wide acceptance and use in numerous scientific areas. This is due to the increase in the widespread use of computers, which has allowed the use of programs that implement these techniques. In Natural Sciences research, an extensive set of random variables is often handled that may present different levels and correlation structures that must be taken into account when analyzing their behavior. The use of univariate analysis in these cases only allows obtaining isolated conclusions and does not allow the relationships between the variables under study to be studied simultaneously. For professionals seeking to research in applied sciences, multivariate techniques are a fundamental tool to express, interpret and infer about the interrelated behavior of the variables involved in any process.
